Go Around City Center - Yangon
Yangon is great city to explore on foot. We recommend that if you get downtown area of Yangon, you should start walking tour. Sule Phaya (Pagoda) is central of city center. It is about 2000 years old and you have never seen like that it is main traffic circle of city center. It is surrounded by government buildings and shopping center. And then you should take a photo to very impressive colonial building that is City Hall. Opposite of City Hall is Mahabandoola Park and you will see breathtaking view and you will be feel green life. Continuing east on Mahabandoola Road, you will pass food stalls and many others crowded people and then turn right to Pensoden Road where on the pavement you will see many stalls selling second-hand books and photocopied books as Yangon’s open-air library. At the middle block of Pensoden Road, you will see the High Court Building on your right that is the highest legal authority in the land. Continuing down to Pensoden Road, you will see the huge Inland Water Transport office and even grander Myanma Port Authority building that are full of colonial architectures.
And then down to the end of Pensoden Road, you will see very crowded jetty that is Nanthidar Jetty. You can take a boat to across the Yangon River to visit Dala Township where is the main entrance to go to the pottery industry in Twante. If you want to take a rest for a while, you can go turn left to Strand Road for a one block where Strand Hotel that you can rest in the air-conditioned lobby, cafe` and bar. When you are ready to start your way, walk west along Strand Road for a block past Pensoden Road, you will see Custom House, built in 1915 and on your way, corner of Strand Road and Sule Phaya Road, you will see very impressive Law Court. And then you should turn left to Sule Phaya Road towards the Sule Phaya. Along the way, you will see many fortune tellers who hangout under the trees. You can discover your future. If you have enough time to go shopping, you can go famous Bogyoke Aung San Market where is on the Bogyoke Aung San Road.
